Crângurile is a municipality in the Dâmbovița district in Wallachia in Romania . The seat of the municipality is Bădulești .
Geographical location
Located in the south of Romania in the historical region of Great Wallachia , the municipality is in the west of the Dâmbovița district. The municipality of Crângurile is located on the Potopu - a left tributary of the Sabar - about 7 kilometers northwest of the small town of Găeşti on the national road ( drum național ) DN 7 between Bucharest and Piteşti in the west of the Dâmbovița district. The parish consists of eight villages.
There is a maritime climate ( Cfb ) here .
population
In 2002, 3451 people lived in the community, of which 3159 were Romanians , 288 Roma , two Magyars , one Turk and one resident of other ethnic groups. The census of October 20, 2011 found in the municipality of Crângurile a population of 3394 inhabitants. 2499 of them were Romanians, 765 Roma and 129 people were registered without any ethnic information.
economy
In the area of the municipality of Crângurile there is also the chemical contaminated dump site of a chemical factory that was in operation here from 1958 to 2004. Residues of pollutants such as chromium , chromium (IV) chloride and lead were found in soil samples . At the end of 2012, the awarding of the renovation work on the site should take place.
There is a larger milk and cheese factory in the municipality. Yet most people live in poverty.
