Florida Parishes
The Florida Parishes ( French Paroisses de Floride ) are a region in Louisiana , which consists of areas of the former West Florida . It includes the following parishes :
- East Baton Rouge Parish
- East Feliciana Parish
- West Feliciana Parish
- Livingston Parish
- St. Helena Parish
- St. Tammany Parish
- Tangipahoa Parish
- Washington Parish
The region had a population of 887,444 in the 2000 census on 12,134.57 square kilometers, resulting in a population density of 73 inhabitants per square kilometer.

In addition to Baton Rouge as the only large city with 227,017 inhabitants (2000), there are also some medium-sized cities (2000 inhabitants in brackets):

history
In 1810, the region was briefly part of the Republic of West Florida , whose flag was known as the Bonnie Blue Flag . Later the area became part of the Orleans Territory .
