Florina Ioana Cîrstea (born December 19, 1992 ) is a Romanian biathlete .

Florina Ioana Cîrstea is a student and lives in Zărneşti . The athlete from CSS Dinamo Râşnov , where she is trained by Gheorghe Gârniță , started biathlon in 2007 and has been a member of the Romanian national team since 2008. The first international championship was the 2011 Junior World Championships in Torsby , where she was 21st of the individual, 33rd of the sprint and 47th of the pursuit race. Only a little later she took part in the junior races of the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2011 in Duszniki-Zdrój , in which the Romanian was 20th in the sprint and pursuit and only placed fourth at the side of Réka Ferencz , Roland Gerbacea and Remus Faur in the mixed relay race just missed a medal by one rank. The following year the Junior World Championships 2011 in Nové Město na Moravě followed . Cîrstea was 42nd in the individual, eleventh in the sprint, 15th in the pursuit and tenth in relay. A little later it ran at the 2011 European Championships in Ridnaun . There she finished 39th in the individual, 29th in the sprint and pursuit and 13th in the mixed relay. In 2012 the Junior World Championships followed in Kontiolahti , in which the Romanian came in 40th place in the individual, 30th place in the sprint and 42nd place in the pursuit race.

Cîrstea competed in her first women's race in 2009 in Obertilliach in the IBU Cup , where she finished 75th in a sprint. Her best results and at the same time her first results in the points in the racing series she achieved in 2011 in Bansko , where she was eighth and tenth in two sprint races. The Romanian ran her first race in the World Cup in 2012 at Holmenkollen in Oslo , where she finished 73rd in a sprint. The highlight of the season was the first participation in an international championship for women, the 2012 World Championships in Ruhpolding .
