Floyd Favors (born December 3, 1963 ) is a retired American boxer from Washington, DC

Boxing career

He started boxing at the age of eleven and initially lived in Capitol Heights, Maryland . As an amateur, he became the American bantamweight champion in 1982 and also won the 1982 World Championships in Munich . He defeated it Roma Dawidow from Israel, Jo Rion-Sik from North Korea, Sami Buzoli from Yugoslavia and Viktor Miroshnichenko from the Soviet Union. In 1983 he won a bronze medal at the Pan American Games in Venezuela and won an international match in 1984 against later European champion Ljubiša Simić . He is also the winner of the National Sports Festival in 1982 and 1983.

From 1985 to 1992 he boxed as a professional in the USA and played 20 fights with 14 wins, 5 losses and one draw. He lost his last professional fight by knockout in the first round against Leavander Johnson .
