The Airport Changsha Huanghua ( Chinese  长沙黄花国际机场 , Pinyin Changsha Huanghua Guoji Jīchǎng ; English: Changsha Huanghua International Airport ) is an international airport in China . It is the thirteenth largest airport in China in terms of passenger volume. The airport belongs to the administrative area of the greater community Huanghua (黄花镇) in the district of Changsha the city of Changsha , capital of the province of Hunan .

Transport links

There are bus connections from the airport to the center of Changsha and to the cities of Changde , Xiangtan , Zhuzhou and Yueyang . There is also an alternative by taxi .

expansion

An expansion plan costing around 200 million euros began in July 2006. This includes:

  • Extension of the runway from 2600 m to 3200 m so that A380s can fly to the airport (completed April 2009)
  • Construction of additional taxiways and gates
  • Renovation of the old terminal
  • Construction of a new terminal (opened on July 19, 2011)
  • Extension of the parking areas

All projects have been completed.
