The Enfidha Airport ( fr. Aéroport International d'Enfidha-Hammamet , Arabic مطار النفيضة الدولي) is an international airport in Tunisia on the Gulf of Hammamet not far from Yasmine Hammamet and Port El-Kantaoui .

It is located between Hammamet and Sousse and between Tunis and Monastir airports . It is planned that it should relieve the Monastir airport, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the city.

The airport has been located near the city of Enfidha ( Sousse Governorate ) since 2007 and opened for international air traffic in 2010. The operator is the Turkish TAV Airports Holding .

In the first phase, the international airport is to have a capacity of 7,000,000 passengers per year and one runway, and later it will be steadily expanded to a capacity of 22,000,000 passengers and two runways.

The airport was originally named after the former Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali . On January 15, 2011, one day after the escape from Zine El Abidine Ben Alis in connection with the protests of the Tunisian people against his dictatorship, his name and portraits were removed from the airport building. The official name is now Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport . In connection with the repatriation of tourists during the revolution in Tunisia in 2010/2011 , Enfidha airport became the most important departure point for a short time, as a departure from Monastir airport was largely impossible.

UPS Airlines serves Enfidha from Malta and Cologne / Bonn Airport , making it the airport's most important cargo airline .
