The Nanjing Lukou International Airport ( Chinese  南京禄口国际机场 , Pinyin Nanjing Lùkǒu Guoji Jīchǎng ) is the international airport of the provincial capital of Nanjing to the Chinese province of Jiangsu . It is the 14th largest airport in China in terms of passenger volume. The airport is located in the Lukou (禄 口 街道) street in Jiangning District .

Expansion plans

The following expansion plan is to begin in 2013 (phase 2) :

  • Construction of a second terminal
  • Make A380 ready (construction of a second 3600 × 60 meter long runway)
  • Construction of new taxiways
  • Construction of 42 new parking areas

When it is expected to be completed in 2020, the airport is expected to have a capacity of 30 million passengers and 800,000 tons of cargo. The cost is about $ 1.5 billion.

It is planned to connect the airport to the Nanjing subway by 2030 . A connection to the city's largest long-distance train station , Nanjing South Station , will be provided by a bus shuttle until then.
