The Raiatea Airport (French Aéroport de Raiatea , IATA : RFP, ICAO : NTTR) is the airport of the island of Raiatea in French Polynesia . Since there was no suitable flat terrain on the island, the airport area was artificially piled up in the lagoon on the northern edge of the island in the village of Uturoa .

The number of passengers, which in most years was between 200,000 and 250,000, rose to 955,377 in 2007 due to an extremely high number of transit passengers.

Airlines and destinations

The local airline Air Tahiti operates regular flights to Bora Bora , Huahine , Maupiti and several times a day to Tahiti , the flight to Tahiti takes about 40 minutes.
