The Foreign White (also known as the White Siamese Cat or Oriental Shorthair White ) is a pedigree cat that emerged from the Siamese cat and plain white domestic cats through systematic breeding . Depending on the cat breeding association, it is run as an independent breed or counted either with the Siamese or the Oriental Shorthair .

Appearance

The Foreign White is a "Siamese cat in a white costume". It has a very slender and muscular body, long legs and a long tail tapering to a point. The head is wedge-shaped; the face and the large, diagonal ears form an isosceles triangle. The eyes are almond-shaped, set far apart and slightly slanted and of a strong blue color.

character

The Foreign White, like other oriental cat breeds, is lively and alert, intelligent and headstrong, but very human. She is very communicative and likes to express herself with her loud voice.

history

The Foreign White breeding plan was created in the 1960s. The first Foreign White were issued in 1966, and in 1977 the Foreign White was fully recognized by the GCCF .

Breeding goal

Because white cats with light blue eyes often suffer from deafness and impaired vision, a way has been sought to breed white cats with blue eyes without these problems. The idea was to transfer the Siamese cat's blue eyes to a white cat with green eyes. This eye color is named Turner blue after the English cat breeder Patricia Turner .

genetics

The Foreign White is said to be pure breeding for the color black (BB) and the Siamese mark (c s c s ). She should not wear any attachments for gender-linked red or spotting. The original breeding plan also included purity for white.
