List of cat breeds |
The Chausie is a cross between a house cat and a pipe cat ( Felis chaus ). Breeders believe that if properly socialized, chausies will become loyal friends. The cat has an athletic body, long legs and banded short-haired fur.
Emergence
Since the 1960s, cat breeders have randomly and deliberately crossed domestic cats with closely related wild cats. There is a heated discussion in breeder circles about the ethical side of this combination. In 1995, the Chausie, bred in the USA, was officially registered with the TICA .
