Fort Green Springs is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hardee County in the US state of Florida with 231 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Fort Green Springs is about 15 km west of Wauchula and about 80 km southeast of Tampa . The CDP is crossed by Florida State Road 62 .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 231 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 126 households. 87.4% of the population identified themselves as whites, 1.7% as African American , 0.4% as Indians and 0.9% as Asian Americans . 9.5% said they belonged to another ethnic group. 17.7% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 28.8% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 41.3% of all households. 76.3% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.89 people and the average family size was 3.02 people.

19.5% of the population were younger than 20 years, 17.4% were 20 to 39 years old, 37.2% were 40 to 59 years old, and 26.1% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 47 years. 56.3% of the population were male and 43.7% were female.
