Limestone is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hardee County in the US state of Florida with 132 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Limestone is about 30 km south of Wauchula and about 110 km southeast of Tampa .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 132 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 123 households. 65.2% of the population identified themselves as whites , 20.5% as African American , 0.8% as Indians and 2.3% as Asian Americans . 9.1% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.3% to several ethnic groups. 9.1% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 31.4% of all households and persons aged at least 65 were living in 27.5% of all households. 64.7% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.59 people and the average family size was 3.03 people.

27.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 21.9% were 20 to 39 years old, 28.7% were 40 to 59 years old, and 21.9% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 41 years. 50.0% of the population were male and 50.0% were female.

The median annual income was $ 7,468, with 58.3% of the population living below the poverty line.
