In 1919 he created the "Xōchitl" design at the Denishawn Ballet and designed other interiors in the Indian style. One of his best-known works is the Indian facade decoration at the Mayan Theater in downtown Los Angeles , where he also designed part of the interior. The theater itself was completed in 1927 based on a design by the architect Stiles O. Clements .

Most recently he worked in Los Angeles as head of the advertising department of the Huasteca Petroleum Company founded by Edward L. Doheny in 1906.

El Rancho del Artista, Mexico City

From Acapulco originating Nora Tarrac (1920-1988), a then sought-after model and wife of 22 years old from Barcelona coming sculptor Àngel Tarrach stood here for a group of painters in the garden model. The restaurant also served as a postcard motif.

With the expansion of the Avenida Coyoacán in the Colonia del Valle to an urban expressway (“Eje Vial”), the popular “Rancho del Artista” with the house number 957, which was known to the United States , was and still was used by many tour operators, disappeared was continued after Cornejo's death.
