Frank "Wuschi" Rohde , (born March 2, 1960 in Rostock ) is a former German soccer player and today's soccer coach . He was coach of the regional division Chemnitzer FC until autumn 2004 .
Athletic career
Club career
Frank Rohde, like his three older brothers Peter , Rainer and Jürgen, learned to play football from 1966 to 1969 at SG Dynamo Rostock-Mitte , where his father Egon was youth leader. In 1969 the father was appointed to a similar position at BFC Dynamo . His youngest son then belonged to this soccer club (GDR) of the Dynamo sports association until 1990. In 1974 Frank Rohde followed his three brothers to the “Werner Seelenbinder” children's and youth sports school in Berlin-Hohenschönhausen . After his first league debut in the 1979/80 season, he was nine times GDR champion with the capital club and won the FDGB Cup twice (1988 and 1989) . In total, Rohde played 200 league games in which he scored ten goals.
After the reunification of Germany, Wuschi Rohde and Thomas Doll moved from BFC to Hamburger SV in the Bundesliga . Between 1990 and 1993 he played 103 games in the Bundesliga. He then moved back to Berlin and played 48 times in the 2nd Bundesliga between 1993 and 1995 at Hertha BSC . On July 28, 1993, a Rohde own goal was named Goal of the Month . However, he was the only soccer player to date to receive this award 18 years later.
Selection bets
At BFC, Rohde also made the leap into the GDR national team , for which he played a total of 42 international matches between 1984 and 1989. He scored his only goal in the national team's jersey on October 10, 1984 in Aue during the GDR's international match against Algeria . Rohde scored the 2-0 in the 25th minute, and in the end the GDR won 5-2.
Coaching career
Since the end of his career as an active player in 1995, Rohde has been working as a soccer coach. Between 1995 and 1997 he looked after the regional league team Reinickendorfer Füchse . In January 1998 he moved to league rivals FC Sachsen Leipzig , where he stayed until May 1999. Then he coached the upper division Eintracht Oranienburg and was head coach at Chemnitzer FC from June 18, 2003, where he was dismissed during the 2004/05 season. After a renewed coaching activity at the Brandenburg association league club Eintracht Oranienburg, he was in charge of SV Falkensee-Finkenkrug , who played in the Brandenburg League , from 2010 to October 2015 , and since November 2015 he has been coaching FV Preussen Eberswalde, who play in the same league . After being released from the position of coach of the first team in October 2017, he started in the same position in November 2017 for the second team of FV Preussen Eberswalde, which he held until 2018.
