The Town of Franklin is located in southwest Wisconsin, around 30 km east of the intersection of the three states of Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota on the Mississippi .

US Highways 14 and 61 run through the northeast of the Town of Franklin on a shared route . At the northern boundary of the town, the Wisconsin Highways 27 and 82 branch off together from this road and run in a south-westerly direction through the entire town. The common course ends in the southwest of the town and the WIS 27 leaves the town to the south, while the WIS 82 turns to the west.
