The Town of Viroqua is located in southwest Wisconsin, around 35 km east of the intersection of the three states of Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota on the Mississippi .
The Town of Viroqua is located in the Ice Age-shaped region called the Driftless Area , which stretches across southeastern Minnesota, southwestern Wisconsin, northeastern Iowa, and far northwestern Illinois. During the last ice age, the so-called Wisconsin Glaciation , the region remained ice-free, so that the river valleys could cut deeper into the plateau during this time.

The US highways 14 and 61 and the Wisconsin State Highway 27 run in a north-south direction through the Town of Viroqua. Wisconsin Highways 56 and 82 run in a west-east direction partly on a common stretch of route . In addition, the county highways B, BB, LF, NN, SS and T run through the town. All other roads are subordinate country roads, some unpaved roads and inner-city connecting roads.
