The Town of Stark is located in southwest Wisconsin and is traversed by the Kickapoo River , a right tributary of the Wisconsin River that flows into the Mississippi . The intersection of the three states of Minnesota , Iowa and Wisconsin on the Mississippi is about 70 km to the west-southwest.
The Town of Stark is located in the Ice Age-shaped region called the Driftless Area , which stretches across southeastern Minnesota, southwestern Wisconsin, northeastern Iowa, and far northwestern Illinois. During the last ice age, the so-called Wisconsin Glaciation , the region remained ice-free, so that the river valleys could cut deeper into the plateau during this time.
The geographical coordinates of the center of the Town of Stark are 43 ° 35'44 "north latitude and 90 ° 36'35" west longitude. It extends over an area of 89.2 km². The Town of Stark completely encloses the independent municipality of La Farge without it being part of the town.

The Wisconsin State Highway 131 leads north-south direction through the Town of Stark; Wisconsin State Highway 82 runs west-east . Both streets cross in the non-town parish of La Farge. In addition, the County Highways D and P run through the area of the town. All other roads are subordinate country roads, some unpaved roads and inner-city connecting roads.
