Franz Eckert (lawyer)

Franz Eckert (born November 14, 1931 ; † November 16, 2017 ) was an Austrian business lawyer . He was also a deacon of the Roman Catholic Church and very active as a functionary in the Austrian Red Cross, Lower Austria Regional Association.

Life

Franz Eckert studied law and from 1961 worked as a business lawyer in Baden near Vienna (Eckert & Fries Rechtsanwälte GmbH). He held numerous supervisory board mandates, including at Adolf Darbo AG , OMV petrol stations , Elektra Bregenz , Grass , Mediaprint , Graz-Köflacher Bahn und Busbetrieb , Herz Armaturen, Rath and others. In 1998 he became a member of the supervisory board at Magna Steyr . He was a lawyer at Bank Austria for many years and was appointed to the Supervisory Board of Creditanstalt for five years by the major shareholder Bank Austria in 1997 . He was the spokesman for the small shareholders. At the Austrian Red Cross, Regional Association of Lower Austria, Franz Eckert was the long-time district manager of the Baden Red Cross district office, state specialist for legal matters and chairman of the regional arbitration court and state curate.

He was the father of the alternative medicine doctor Achim Eckert .

Act

Eckert was involved in the IGNM section Austria , the national section of the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM); he is an ISCM board member and an honorary member of ISCM and IGNM.

Franz Eckert was a member of the Knightly Order of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem . He was the custodian of the Austrian Hospice in Jerusalem . He was Chancellor of the Austrian Lieutenancy from 1990 to 1992 and was awarded the Golden Palm of Jerusalem in 2003 for his commitment to the Holy Land . He was a member of the KAV Capitolina Rome in the CV .

Eckert was an honorary deacon for Klein-Mariazell . He was committed to the restoration and revitalization of the former Benedictine abbey in the pilgrimage town of Klein-Mariazell. He was the initiator of the spiritual center on the Via Sacra , the old pilgrimage route to Mariazell.

As European Commissioner in the General Secretariat of the Austrian Bishops' Conference , he was an advisor to the Austrian bishops in Brussels and campaigned for Christianity in the European Union ; He was a member of the Legal Commission of the Commission of the Bishops' Conferences of the EU Area (ComECE).

As Red Cross District Office Manager, Franz Eckert managed the Red Cross District Office in Baden from 1991 to 2011. In the Austrian Red Cross , Lower Austria Regional Association, Eckert was regional specialist for legal matters from 1996 to 2016, 1996-2011 Chairman of the Arbitration Court, 2000-2015 Chairman of the Election committee of the regional association, 2001–2016 member of the working committee and 2008–2017 provincial curate and thus played a key role in shaping the Red Cross in Lower Austria.

honors and awards

In 2004 he was awarded the Golden Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria for his work . Justice Minister Karin Miklautsch recognized his work in the Austrian legal system, but also his diverse social and social commitment. Eckert has been involved for many years for the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem - in particular for the Austrian Hospice for the Holy Family in Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem's old town , for a homeless project of the Austrian Red Cross in Wiener Neustadt and free legal advice for socially disadvantaged people in his home community Alland in Lower Austria .
