Franz Greiner (journalist)

Franz Greiner ( pseudonym : Werner Pank ; born June 1, 1919 in Leipzig , † 1987 ) was a German journalist and publicist .

Life

Greiner did military service from 1939 to 1945. He then studied at the University of Goettingen and was 1952 in Classic Philology Dr. phil. PhD. From 1949 to 1952 he was a student co-editor of the Deutsche Universitätszeitung .

From 1952 to 1965 he was editor, from 1960 editor-in-chief of the magazine Herder Korrespondenz . He was also editor-in-chief of the world of books until 1965 . In 1965 he became head of social education and deputy head of the main culture department at WDR . From 1976 to 1982 he acted as program group leader Family and Society and deputy head of the culture program area.

From 1966 to 1971 he was editor and editor of Hochland and in 1972 co-editor of the international Catholic magazine Communio . He was also a publisher and managing director at Communio-Verlag. Greiner published several books.

Greiner was Catholic, married and the father of three children.
