Franz Ludolph Ferdinand von Wildau (born August 12, 1725 - September 30, 1794 ) was a Prussian lieutenant general , chief of infantry regiment No. 14 and knight of the Pour le Mérite .

Life

His parents were the imperial captain in the infantry regiment "Walczeck" Leopold von Wildau and Lindenwiese († October 24, 1738 in Ratschau near Timisoara ) and his wife Maria Elisabeth Lange (* June 27, 1708 in Sagan ; † March 12, 1789 in Wroclaw ). She was the daughter of the imperial lieutenant and citizen from Sagan Peter Ludolph Lange.

Military career

Wildau went into Prussian service in 1744 , joined the “von Schwerin” infantry regiment No. 31 and took part in the siege of Prague during the Second Silesian War . On September 20, 1748 he became second lieutenant , on May 10, 1757, he was promoted to prime lieutenant , on March 28, 1769 to staff captain and on July 26, 1762 to captain and company commander . In 1768 he was appointed Major transported, then on January 13, 1771 to lieutenant colonel , and on July 6, 1775 to Colonel . In 1780 he became the commander of the 33rd Infantry Regiment "von Thadden" . On December 30, 1786 he was appointed chief of the "Henckel" No. 14 infantry regiment. On May 21, 1787, he was promoted to major general . At the review in Heiligenbeil in June 1789, he received the order Pour le Merite. On January 1, 1795 he was still lieutenant general.

He fought in the Seven Years' War near Breslau , Kolin , Kay (wounded), and Torgau and also in the War of the Bavarian Succession .

During the war in Poland he fell ill and died of a fever on September 20, 1794 in Pultusk .

He must have been a good hobby cook - very unusual for the time. His adjutant Hermann von Boyen reports that the general always dined very well.

Wildau married Johanna Julia Hoffmann (* 1745; † February 1, 1771) in Breslau on November 6, 1765. The couple had a daughter:
