Franz Peschka

Franz Peschka (born August 14, 1856 in Abtsdorf ; † April 30, 1908 in Vienna ) was an Austrian farmer and politician .

Life

Born as the son of a farmer and landowner, Peschka studied at the Francisco Josephinum in Mödling and at the Vienna University of Technology after attending secondary school in Brno . During his studies in 1875 he became a member of the Vienna academic fraternity Bruna Sudetia . He was a year old volunteer and became a reserve lieutenant . In 1882 he took over his father's farm, the former hereditary court in Abtsdorf. He managed this until his death in 1908. In 1882 he became mayor of Abtsdorf. In 1886 he was one of the founders of the German Central Agricultural Association for Bohemia , of which he was vice-president from 1900. From 1891 to 1908 he was a German liberal member of the Reichsrat , from 1895 to 1913 a member of the Bohemian state parliament . He belonged first to the Progressive Party and later was the founder and leader of the German Agrarian Party . In 1907 he became German countryman minister in the Beck cabinet .

He was the father-in-law of Franz Spina .
