Franz Julius Sackersdorff (* July 7, 1804 in Tilsit , † February 16, 1881 in Gudwallen ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Franz was a son of the businessman Franz Theodor Sackersdorff and his wife Elisabeth, née Rückner.

Military career

Sackersdorff joined the 1st Dragoon Regiment of the Prussian Army as a dragoon on May 1, 1822 and was promoted to second lieutenant until the end of August 1825 . In 1841/42 he was assigned to the teaching squadron and then served as a regimental adjutant. He was promoted to redundant Prime Lieutenant on March 31, 1846 , and was assigned on March 27, 1847. On November 27, 1849 he was aggregated as Rittmeister to the 3rd Dragoons Regiment and commanded as an adjutant to the remont inspection. Left in this position, Sackersdorff was placed à la suite of the regiment in May 1851 and, as a major, on March 14, 1857, was appointed President of the Remonte Buying Commission for the central provinces. In this position he received the Order of the Red Eagle III. Class with ribbon and rose to colonel . On March 10, 1866, he was put up for disposal with a pension and the authorization to wear the uniform of the Litthau Dragoon Regiment No. 1 (Prince Albrecht of Prussia) .

For the duration of the German War , in 1866, he was initially employed as an inspector of the replacement squadrons of the 1st Army Corps and later as a deputy remonte inspector. During the mobilization on the occasion of the war against France , Sackersdorff was again inspector of the replacement squadrons of the 1st Army Corps in 1870/71. He received the character of Major General on April 8, 1871, and when he was retired on July 15, 1871, the Order of the Crown, Second Class. He died on February 16, 1881 in Gudwallen (Darkehmen district).

family

Sackersdorf married on May 2, 1843 in Tilsit Emilie Stiemer (1811-1845), a daughter of a lieutenant colonel from the 1st Dragoon Regiment. The future Rittmeister Heinrich Julius Emil (* 1844) emerged from the marriage. After the death of his first wife, he married the sister of his first wife Wilhelmine Henriette Mathilde Stiemer (1810-1883) on September 12, 1849 in Lentweden.
