Franziska Scheffler (born October 17, 1989 in Solingen ) is a German duathlete and triathlete . She is multiple German Duathlon Champion (2010–2015), German University Triathlon Champion (2011) and European Sprint Duathlon Champion (2014, 2015).

Career

Franziska Scheffler grew up with her twin brothers Felix and Florian . As a 6-year-old she came to the athletics club in Hilden. Some starts at the German Championships and a 2nd place with the team at the German Cross Country Championships 2006 were the greatest successes.

In 2010 Franziska Scheffler became German University Triathlon Champion at the Münster Triathlon.

German champion duathlon 2012

In 2012 she became German Duathlon Champion in the elite class, after she had already won this title twice in the U23 class. In September she was eighth in the Duathlon World Championship and reached third place with the German mixed team.

European champion sprint duathlon 2014

In April 2014 she was European champion in the sprint duathlon in the Netherlands and fourth in the Duathlon World Championship in Spain in May.

In March 2015 she won the title of the German Duathlon Championship for the third time. In April she was able to successfully defend her title at the European Championships in the sprint duathlon in the Netherlands. In 2015 she switched to the middle distance in the triathlon (1.9 km swimming, 83 km cycling and 21 km running) and came second in the Allgäu Classic in August .

The years 2016 and 2017 were marked by health problems. Franziska Scheffler lives in Hilden today .
