Frehne is a district of the Marienfließ community in the Prignitz district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is five kilometers southwest of Meyenburg and ten kilometers northeast of Putlitz . The neighboring towns are Krempendorf in the north, Meyenburg in the northeast, Bergsoll in the east, Penzlin-Süd in the southeast, Grabow in the south, Neu Silmersdorf in the southwest, Telschow in the west and Stepenitz in the northwest.

The former farm village Frehne was first mentioned in 1275 as "Verene".

Before 1816 the place belonged to the Pritzwalkischer Kreis in the Prignitz of the Mark Brandenburg and then came to the district of Ostprignitz in the administrative district of Potsdam in the province of Brandenburg . In 1860, the municipality of Frehne had a district size of 2016  acres , of which 1062 acres were arable, 551 acres pasture, 362 acres meadow, 28 acres homesteads and 13 acres garden land. In 1895 the Lindenberg expansion was first mentioned as belonging to the village. In 1900 the settlement was recorded as a village with the expansion of Lindenberg and, in addition to the municipal district with a size of 574 hectares and 44 houses, a manor with a 759 hectare manor district with 11 houses. In 1928 the manor district was merged with the municipality of Frehne. In 1931 the Lindenberg residential area belonged to the municipality, the size of the district was 1333 hectares and a total of 65 residential buildings were counted. From 1952 the place was part of the Pritzwalk district in the Potsdam district . Previously, the Lindenberg residential area was no longer mentioned in 1964 and 393 residents lived in the community in that year. In 1993 Frehne became part of the newly created district of Prignitz and the district court of Perleberg was responsible here.
