Career

Friedhelm Bögelsack played at SC Empor Rostock until the 1969/70 season and was delegated to Berlin for the 1970/71 season after the GDR Oberliga was reduced to SC Dynamo Berlin and SG Dynamo Weißwasser and then played at SC Dynamo Berlin until 1989, with which he was GDR champion twelve times .

In 1989 Bögelsack left the GDR and went to Lower Saxony, where he received a contract with the second division club EC Hannover . Since Bögelsack would have filled a foreigner position despite the German nationality due to the change of the national association and the DEB regulations, he first played in the second team of Hanover, where he was nicknamed "Zig Zack" due to his agility. For the EC in Hanover he was in the 1994/95 season in a total of 45 games in the newly founded German Ice Hockey League on the ice, scoring three goals and six assists. In the following years he played at the EC in Hanover well into the 1990s and also helped with the new start as Kleefelder EV Hanover in the 1998/99 season in the fourth division. He also ran in the 2002/03 season for the EC Wedemark Farmers in the ice hockey regional league .

Today Friedhelm Bögelsack is responsible for the youth work of the ESC Wedemark Scorpions and works as a coach of the league team in Mellendorf.
