Friedrich August Abt (born March 4, 1811 in Illertissen , † May 1, 1882 in Passau ) was a German lawyer and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Abbot initially received private lessons in Mindelheim and attended grammar school in Augsburg from 1826 to 1829 . From 1830 to 1834 he studied at the universities of Würzburg , Breslau and Munich , among other things philosophy, law and political science, as well as shorthand. In 1834 and 1835 he was a legal intern at the regional courts of Schongau and Mindelheim. In 1836 he passed the practical bankruptcy test in Augsburg. Between 1836 and 1841 he was a functionary at the royal district courts of Unter- Günzburg , Reichenhall and Sonthofen . From 1841 to 1845 he was a legal trainee in Kaufbeuren and from 1845 to 1848 assessor at the district court of Mitterfels . In 1849 he was appointed City Court Assessor and Second Public Prosecutor in Passau. 1850 District and City Judge and Public Prosecutor in Wasserburg as well as II. Definitive public prosecutor at the jury court in Straubing . Between 1851 and 1866 he was I. definitive public prosecutor at the Royal District and City Court, then District Court of Kempten . In 1861 he was appointed to the Appeal Council and worked in this position from 1866 to 1879 at the Lower Bavaria Appeal Court in Passau. He was also five times chairman of the jury court in Straubing. From 1872 to 1878 he was a commissioner in the bankruptcy examination of civil service aspirants in Landshut and from 1879 to 1881 councilor at the Royal Higher Regional Court in Munich. On May 1, 1881 he was retired and in September 1881 he moved from Munich to Passau.

In 1880 he became a member of the Bavarian state parliament for Grafenau for one year and through a by-election for the resigned MP Adolf Krätzer in May 1880 he also became a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency Niederbayern 3 (Passau) and the German Center Party . He was re-elected in 1881 and was a member of the Reichstag until his death in 1882.
