Friedrich Cauer (sculptor)
Friedrich "Fritz" Cauer (born January 20, 1874 in Kreuznach , Rhine Province ; † March 8, 1945 in Kassel ) was a German sculptor and painter .
Life
Friedrich Cauer, offspring of the artist family Cauer , was the son of the sculptor Robert Cauer the Elder . To 1901 he studied at the art academies of Kassel , Munich (1893), Karlsruhe and Stuttgart mostly painting . He later turned to plastic . He settled in Düsseldorf - Oberkassel and took part in exhibitions there. In 1904 he was represented at the Great Berlin Art Exhibition . He married Louise Scheffer (1875–1945) and died with her in the bombing raid on Kassel on March 8, 1945.
