Friedrich Kaspar Hartmann
Friedrich Kaspar Hartmann (born May 3, 1809 in Mainz , † October 22, 1896 in Darmstadt ) was a Prussian major general .
Life
Origin and family
Friedrich Kaspar Hartmann was a son of the tailor Peter Hartmann and Helene, nee Hagel. His marriage to Marie Franziska Geilfuß (1818–1898) in Worms in 1838 resulted in eleven children.
Military career
Hartmann began his career in 1829 as a gunner in the artillery corps of the Grand Ducal Hessian Army . He was 1830 Cadet gunner and was promoted in 1831 to lieutenant , 1843 to lieutenant and in 1849 to captain . When he was promoted to major in 1859 , he was assigned to the 1st section of the War Ministry and a teacher at the military school in Darmstadt. In 1866 he rose to lieutenant colonel , and in 1867 he was awarded the character as Colonel board of artillery depots Darmstadt and commander of the local military hospital. Retaining his position, Hartmann was accepted into the Prussian Army as a characterized major general in 1872 . In the same year he was put up for disposal with a pension .
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the foundation festival of the Hessian Artillery Corps, he received the patent for his rank in 1890 . Hartmann was considered to be an extremely talented artillery officer who played a key role in drafting the Prussian-Hessian military convention in 1867.
