Friedrich Wilhelm von Arnim (born July 18, 1715 in Tornow , † before May 4, 1761) was a Prussian major .
Life
origin
Friedrich Wilhelm was a member of the von Arnim noble family from Uckermark . His parents were the Prussian lieutenant colonel and heir to Götschendorf , Neu Hohenwalde and Bernsdorf near Petznick , Berndt Ludwig von Arnim (1681–1748) and his wife Marie Ilse, née von Holtzendorff (1692–1775) from the Tornow family.
Career
King Friedrich Wilhelm I was Arnim's godfather . He joined the Prussian Army and served his way up to captain in Infantry Regiment No. 7 . In 1757 he was chief of a Neumark land battalion. After the battle of Kunersdorf , he and his men were taken prisoner by the Russians while they were in retreat near Küstrin . He received his departure as a major.
Arnim was lord of Neu Hohenwalde (sold in 1748) and Ziegelwerder in Neumark.
family
Arnim married Henriette von Strantz (1743–1807) from the Petershagen house in 1760 . The marriage resulted in a posthumously born son, who however died on May 4, 1761, shortly after the father.
