Fritz Böttger (screenwriter)
Fritz Böttger (born August 7, 1902 in Gera ; † November 1, 1981, presumably in Munich ) was a German dancer, singer, choreographer, screenwriter , actor and film director .
Live and act
Böttger had received training in dance, singing and acting. Active as an artist since 1927, he began his career as a ballet master and solo dancer at the Rostock municipal theaters . Other theater stations included Münster , Graz and Karlsbad (only summer stage there). In the 1938/39 season, Fritz Böttger was allowed to work as a director for the first time (head of the operetta at the Oldenburg State Theater ), and almost at the same time he received his first offer from film.
Fritz Böttger appeared in front of the camera in a number of supporting roles until 1950, and in the same year the seamless transition to work as a screenwriter took place. His first work was the idea for Helmut Käutner's production Epilog . In cooperation with experienced and veteran entertainment routinists such as Joachim Wedekind , Walter Forster and Janne Furch , Böttger created the templates for a series of comedies and romances, noble schnulz and Heimatfilms from 1952 onwards. Occasionally, however, Fritz Böttger also oversaw material for the operetta genre, which he was familiar with as a former dancer and ballet master (“ Die Försterchristel”, “Mask in Blau”, “Der Bettelstudent”, “Der Graf von Luxemburg ”).
Fritz Böttger also directed two little-known cinema works from 1952/53, followed by a trip to trash, exploitation and horror films about scantily clad, shipwrecked dancers and a biting giant spider (" A dead person hung in the web "). ) with the young actress Barbara Valentin in one of the leading roles.
