action

Beatrice Rasmussen runs away from her father when he tries to forbid her from attending the Enrico Pinelli ballet school. Nevertheless, she can be trained as a dancer. While visiting the circus, she met and fell in love with the tamer Ruda. Ruda thinks Beatrice is an admirer and gives her the cold shoulder. When Beatrice tells him that he is actually outrageous, he only replies: “Men have to be like that!” When Beatrice wants to meet Ruda the next day, the circus is gone. She then leaves the ballet troupe and goes to the circus as a girl, where she dances in the tiger cage as “La belle Beatrice”. The creepy Cameron, an art shooter, has fallen in love with her and saves her life with an art shot against an attacking tiger. With that the tiger number is done and Beatrice becomes his assistant. The contract is for ten years. She now works as a living target every day. Surprisingly, the clown Doddy, an old rival of Cameron, appears in the circus and allies himself with Ruda, who has also been hired in the meantime. Ruda discovers his love for Beatrice and his hostility to Cameron. After a violent argument between the two rivals, Beatrice and Ruda finally find each other.

criticism

“Love, jealousy and crime among circus artists: after mysterious incidents, a ballet dancer wins the affection of the famous trainer, with whom she fell in love. Obsolete, but effective mixture of thriller suspense, fateful melodrama and circus attraction at the time of its creation, typical of the apolitical entertainment film before the outbreak of the Second World War, ”said the film-dienst .
