Fritz Dallmann

Fritz Karl Dallmann (born June 17, 1923 in Kaisersdorf ( Wirsitz district in West Priborn ) , † May 4, 1999 in Priborn ) was a German SED functionary. He was chairman of the central board of the Association of Mutual Peasant Aid (VdgB), member of the Central Committee of the SED and member of the People's Chamber .

Life

Fritz Dallmann was born in 1923 as the son of a blacksmith and worked as a farm worker from 1938 to 1941 after graduating from elementary school. In 1941 he was drafted into the Navy and was taken prisoner by the British in 1944. In 1947, Dallmann was released from captivity and moved to his relocated family in Priborn in Mecklenburg . In 1947 he took over a new farmer's position in the village.

In 1947 Dallmann joined the VdgB and became chairman of its local committee. In 1948 he became a member of the SED and was chairman of the Röbel / Müritz district committee of the VdgB from 1952 to 1958 . In January 1953, Dallmann co-founded the LPG “Progress” in Priborn and became its chairman. In the following decades he developed this LPG into a model company and began to decisively shape the village image with the resources of the cooperative.

Dallmann was a member of the Neubrandenburg district assembly from 1954 to 1963 and was appointed to the SED district leadership in Neubrandenburg in 1955, where he remained until 1963. He then became a candidate in 1963 and from 1964 a member of the Central Committee of the SED . From 1963 he was also a member of the "Council for Agricultural Production and Food Industry of the GDR". Dallmann completed a distance learning course at the University of Rostock in 1980 as a graduate agricultural engineer. From September 10, 1982 he was chairman of the central board of the Association of Mutual Farmers Aid . Under his leadership, the VdgB was rebuilt as a rural mass organization . Furthermore, Dallmann was strongly committed to the reversal of the KAPs and thus the separation of plant and animal production. From 1986 to March 1990 he was a member of the People's Chamber. On March 6, 1990, he resigned from his position as chairman. After 1990, Dallmann worked as a councilor in Priborn for the PDS and was a member of the supervisory board of the agricultural cooperative founded by the LPG.

In 1959, Dallmann was honored with the title “ Hero of Work ”. In addition to the Patriotic Order of Merit in Gold (1983), he received the Karl Marx Order in 1970 .

The painter Walter Womacka named a series of oil paintings after him (“Der Bauer Fritz Dallmann”, 1985).
