Fritz Hartmann (writer)

Friedrich Hartmann (also: Fritz Hartmann ; born February 2, 1866 in Frankfurt am Main ; † June 27, 1937 in Lenglern ) was a German journalist .

In the early days of the German Empire, Friedrich Hartmann studied history, philosophy and literature at the university in Berlin and in Heidelberg at the university there and received his doctorate in 1890.

In the following year, 1891, he took the position of editor at the Braunschweigische Landeszeitung .

From 1907 Hartmann worked for the newspaper Hannoverscher Kurier , initially as a political editor, from 1913 and until 1916 into the period of the First World War "[...] as head of the Berlin editorial staff". In the middle of the war he published his writings on the German war zones in Upper East and Bulgaria . They became part of the World War II collection of the German library based in Leipzig .

Afterwards and until his retirement, Friedrich Hartmann worked as editor-in-chief of the Hannoversche Kurier.

Hartmann died in the small town of Lenglern near Göttingen .
