Fritz Kalle

Jakob Friedrich (Fritz) Kalle (born January 12, 1837 in Paris ; † July 31, 1915 in Wiesbaden ) was a manufacturer , rentier and social politician ( National Liberal Party ). He is an honorary citizen of Wiesbaden .

Life

After studying in Bonn , Berlin and at the Bergakademie Freiberg , Fritz Kalle was a Prussian mining official and manager of a private mine from 1858 until he joined the family business Kalle und Compagnie in Biebrich as a partner in 1865 . From 1881 he lived as a reindeer in Wiesbaden, where he had already moved his residence in 1878. Here he was from 1883 to 1885 a member of the local council and from 1891 to 1903 unpaid city council.

From 1873 and again from 1879 Kalle was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives. From 1884 to 1890 Kalle was a member of the Reichstag , where he represented the constituency of the Grand Duchy of Hesse 3 (Alsfeld - Lauterbach - Schotten). From 1893 to 1911 he was a member of the district committee for the Wiesbaden administrative region. In 1899 he was awarded the title of professor, in 1907 the character of a secret government councilor, and in 1913 an honorary doctorate from the University of Erlangen . Kalle was active in numerous charitable associations. He was also a co-founder of the Society for the Spread of Popular Education in 1871 and co-founder of the Association for the Protection of the Interests of the German Chemical Industry in 1877 , of which he became the first chairman. In 1895 he introduced the " Wiesbaden system " of school medical checks.
