Fromentel is a place in the Orne department in Normandy and lies on the border of the municipalities of La Fresnaye-au-Sauvage and Les Yveteaux .
geography
This place in the Pays d'Houlme is significant due to the crossroads between several (now graduated) Routes nationales and départementales:
- The RN 24 bis , after the reform of 1972, the RD 924 connects Verneuil-sur-Avre and Granville and spacious Paris with Granville, on the RN 12 between Paris and Verneuil-sur-Avre. From a local point of view, the RD 924 connects Argentan with Flers , two of the more important settlements in the department.
- The RN 809 , after the reform of 1972 the RD 909, connects La Lentillère (in the municipality of Lalacelle ) at the intersection with the RN 12 via Carrouges and Rânes and from Fromentel northwards via Putanges-Pont-Écrepin with Falaise and from there via the RN 158 (in future via the A 88 motorway ) with Caen .

Public transport
The Argentan – Granville railway runs south of Fromentel and trains stop at Yveteaux-Fromentel station as required. The line is still in operation, but the highest station on the line has been closed to travelers since 1969 and to freight traffic since 1971. Fromentel is also served by line 2 of the TER Basse-Normandie network and is served by a bus operated by the SNCF that runs parallel to the train between Argentan and Flers.
