The Corpus Christi Ordinance , the official ordinance of the Saxon State Ministry of the Interior on the regional holiday of Corpus Christi (Corpus Christi Ordinance ), defines those communities in Saxony in which Corpus Christi is a public holiday. The ordinance was issued in 1993 on the basis of the law on Sundays and public holidays in the Free State of Saxony (SächsSFG) .

These are a few communities (a total of 25 localities) in the Bautzen district that are predominantly or at least largely populated by Sorbs and traditionally predominantly Catholic . Outside of these regions and thus in the vast majority of the Protestant state of Saxony, the Feast of Corpus Christi is not of any significant importance.

As a result of the various incorporations and dissolution of parishes that took place after 1993, there is now a curiosity that in some parishes Corpus Christi day is only work-free in certain districts.
