The Fuchsriegel is located in the geographical center of the Ries district, in the immediate vicinity of Gleisdorfer Strasse (B 65) . It protrudes as a small knoll from the Riedel with the place name Auf der Ries , which accompanies the Stiftingtal in the southeast. It is separated from the Schweinberg by a side ditch in the densely populated Ragnitztal . The Hochfeldweg, which connects the B 65 with the Ragnitzstrasse, runs over the gentle southern slope of the Fuchsriegel, which is characterized by grassland .
