Günter Walpuski

Günter Walpuski (born January 23, 1937 in Danzig ) is a German adult educator, reserve officer, local politician of the SPD and author .

Life

In 1957 Günter Walpuski passed the final examination of the 8th officer candidate course of the Federal Border Guard in Lübeck and is currently lieutenant colonel in the reserve . On the second educational path , he passed the Abitur examination. He worked as a director of studies in adult education and studied political science , sociology and educational sciences while working .

Günter Walpuski was also politically active: from 1962 to 1966 he became involved in the Lübeck citizenship, in 1969 he founded a local SPD association and also ran for the Bundestag on the state list , from 1971 to 1981 he headed the SPD local association Gerbrunn and from 1986 to 1986 1989 the local SPD club in Höchberg .

In 1973 he published the book “Defense + Relaxation = Security”, which the federal government bought with a print run of 50,000 and distributed to teachers nationwide. This led to a question from MP Hermann P. Reiser during question time.

From 1973 Walpuski was director of the Society for Political Education е.V. and their home folk high school Haus Frankenwarte in Würzburg . Later he was the academy director of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Würzburg. From 1981 to 1989 Walpuski was chairman of the Working Group of German Educational Institutions (AdB). In the early 1990s he went to China as a development worker . From 1992 to 1996 he headed the coordination office of the Ebert Foundation in the Baltic States and then managed projects in Pakistan and in South and Central Asia until his retirement .

Walpuski is married and has two children.
