Günther Jakobs (illustrator)

Günther Jakobs (* 1978 in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler ) is a German illustrator and author of books for children and young people.

Life

Günther Jakobs studied illustration in the design department of the Münster University of Applied Sciences and completed a second degree in philosophy at the University of Münster as a Magister artium . He has been working as an illustrator and author since 2004 and has published numerous picture and children's books. From 2007 to 2011 he taught illustration at the Münster University of Applied Sciences . His books have already appeared in many countries. He has been illustrating the new Urmel books by Max Kruse at Thienemann Verlag since 2011 . In addition to narrative picture books, Günther Jakobs has illustrated several historical non-fiction books for children and young people.

He lives in Münster with his wife and three children . His studio is located at the old freight yard ( Ateliers Hafenstrasse ).
