Günther Reinders (born September 22, 1944 - † July 23, 2014 ) was a German football player .

Reinders began his high-class career in 1965/66 with Wuppertaler SV in the Regionalliga West . Coach Alfred Preißler brought the previous amateur soccer player from SV Lüntenbeck to six appearances in his debut year in the Regionalliga. It was used for the first time on February 6, 1966 in a 3-1 home win against Schwarz-Weiß Essen, alongside teammates Günter Augustat , Emil Meisen and Manfred Reichert . About the stations FC Villingen 08  - in three seasons he played 62 games with five goals in Villingen at the side of Karl Armbrust , Klaus Bockisch and Gerd Klier - and FK Pirmasens , both also regional division, he moved to the Bundesliga for 1. FC in 1970 Kaiserslautern . With the FKP Reinders was 1969/70 failed as runner-up of the Southwest in summer 1970 in the promotion round against rivals Kickers Offenbach, VfL Bochum, Hertha Zehlendorf and VfL Wolfsburg.

He played his first Bundesliga game on August 22, 1970 against Borussia Dortmund . Immediately a major player and 28 appearances in his first season. He scored his first Bundesliga goal on matchday 8 of the season in a 3-0 win over Arminia Bielefeld . He was also used in the DFB Cup . In the second round, however, the Red Devils had to admit defeat to Bayern Munich .

Things went similarly well in his second and third seasons. 1971/72 Reinders reached the DFB Cup final with Kaiserslautern, which was lost to FC Schalke 04 . He was used in all games. He made five UEFA Cup appearances the following season and was unlucky in the round of 16 when he made it 2-0 for FC Ararat Yerevan himself. Still, Lautern reached the next round. Because of his robust style of play, he quickly became a crowd favorite on the Betzenberg . If things didn't go that well, the fans would often chant his nickname "Dri-Dra-Dracula" from the stands, whereupon he was sometimes substituted. His first action in the game was often a tackle in the opponent.

Early in the 1973/74 round , Reinders moved back to the regional league for FC 08 Homburg , with whom he played in the new league, the 2nd Bundesliga , for two years from 1974 .

In total, Reinders was used in 78 Bundesliga games (2 goals), 25 second division games, 14 DFB Cup and five UEFA Cup games.
