Gabriel Basso

Louis Gabriel Basso III (born December 11, 1994 in St. Louis , Missouri ) is an American actor .

life and career

Gabriel Basso took on his first two film roles in 2007 while filming in his hometown of St. Louis. After those tiny two roles were a first glimpse into the cinema business, he moved to Los Angeles with his mother and sisters in 2008. His sisters Alexandra and Annalize Basso are also in the acting business.

Starting in 2009, Basso received small television roles in Hollywood and his first major appearance in the adventure film Alabama Moon - Adventure Life . He achieved fame through the comedy series The Big C , which first aired between 2010 and 2013 , in which he played Adam Jamison, the son of the main character played by Laura Linney . He took on major film roles in 2011 in the science fiction film Super 8 directed by JJ Abrams and in the coming-of-age tragic comedy Kings of Summer in 2013 as one of three young people who flee their homes and build a house in the woods . In 2015 he starred alongside Tom Hanks in Ithaca , the directorial debut of actress Meg Ryan , and had a supporting role in the action comedy Secret Agency - Barely Lethal . In the court drama Lies (2016) starring Keanu Reeves , Basso played a youth charged with the murder of his wealthy father.

After Basso has not played in any film or television productions since 2016, he was hired in 2019 to play the leading role in Hillbilly Elegy , the film adaptation of the book of the same name by JD Vance . On this project, he is directed by Ron Howard and stars alongside Amy Adams and Glenn Close .
