Gaishacken is a hamlet in the Upper Bavarian Alpine foothills, which belongs to the Prien market on Chiemsee and the Rosenheim district and currently has 22 inhabitants.

Gaishacken is located in the southwest of Chiemgau, centrally between Prien am Chiemsee and Frasdorf. The distance to Munich is 82 km, to Rosenheim 24 km, to Prien am Chiemsee 4 km, to Frasdorf 4 km, to Traunstein 35 km, to Salzburg 63 km and to Kufstein 34 km (via Sachrang ).

history

The hamlet was first mentioned in a document in 1791. At that time, the village was under the rule of Wildenwart, which also had high jurisdiction. Until the completion of the regional reform in Bavaria , Gaishacken was part of the municipality of Wildenwart . On May 1, 1978 this was split up, the northern part with Gaishacken was reclassified to Prien am Chiemsee.
