Gattlin Tadd Griffith (born November 13, 1998 in Santa Clarita , California ) is an American actor and stunt performer . He gained fame primarily through his roles in the films The Stranger Son and Labor Day .

life and career

Gattlin Griffith was born as the eldest of four sons of the stuntman Tad Griffith (* 1962) and his wife Wendy Morrison Griffith in the fourth generation of an artist family in Santa Clarita, in the Los Angeles area. He grew up in Agua Dulce , Los Angeles County , and was in front of the camera at an early age for commercials, including for Yamaha, Burger King and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts . He also appeared regularly with his brothers as a trick rider in various shows. He graduated from high school in 2017 while playing American football on the side. He began studying English at the University of California, Los Angeles .

In his first acting role, Griffith was seen in the film Reckoning in 2012 . A few years later he appeared in guest roles on the series Cold Case - No Victim Is Ever Forget , How I Met Your Mother , Monk , Without a Trace - Vanished without a trace and Supernatural . In 2008 he was seen in the thriller The Stranger Son in the role of Walter Collins . In 2009 he appeared as Robert in a small role in the comedy film All Inclusive and was then seen in the mystery film The New Daughter at the side of Kevin Costner in the role of Sam James . In 2010 he played a central role as Tim Tyson in the drama Blood Done Sign My Name . This was followed by guest appearances in Castle and Criminal Minds . In the 2011 film Green Lantern , he played the main character played by Ryan Reynolds at a young age. In 2012, he appeared in the horror film Under the Bed by director Steven C. Miller . He played a central role in the 2013 film drama Labor Day alongside Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin as Henry Wheeler . He then concentrated more on trick riding and football. In the former, he and his brothers form the Wild West Express quartet under the leadership of their father.
