The Gauliga East Prussia 1937/38 was the fifth season of the Gauliga East Prussia of the German Football Association . For the second time, SV Yorck Boyen Insterburg won the championship. This time the club prevailed against BuEV Danzig, which was in the final for the first time, with 2-0 and 1-1 and qualified for the German soccer championship 1937/38 . In this Insterburg, however, was eliminated in the group stage with zero points, opponents in this group were Hamburger SV , Eintracht Frankfurt and Stettiner SC .

A fixed Gauliga with ten teams was introduced for the coming season. The eight teams that reached the Gauliga this season as well as the two best clubs from a qualifying round of the district third qualified for this.

Once again, matches were initially held in the four second-rate district classes, each with seven participating clubs. The two best clubs then qualified for the actual Gauliga, which was played in two divisions with four teams each. The two group winners then met in two finals to determine the Gaumeister.

The two best teams from the district classes each qualified for this year's Gauliga. In addition, these teams received a place for the Gauliga in the coming season. The district third played an additional qualifying round to determine two more participants for the upcoming Gauliga season.
