Geblar is a district of Otzbach in the town of Geisa in the Wartburg district in Thuringia .

Geblar is located about seven kilometers (as the crow flies) east of the core town of Geisa and about one kilometer southeast of Otzbach on the northern slope of the Hoher Stern mountain . The place is also in the Rhön Biosphere Reserve in the Thuringian Rhön. Geblar is connected to state road 1026 by Kreisstraße 99 . The geographic height of the place is 456  m above sea level. NN .

history

The village was first mentioned in a document on May 17, 1016. Geblar belonged to the Hessian Oberamt Fulda until 1815 and in 1815 it was incorporated into the later administrative district of Dermbach of the Thuringian Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach with other locations of the Geisa office . At the time of the GDR , the place was in the restricted area of the inner-German border , but you were not directly on the border. On April 1, 1974, Geblar was incorporated into Otzbach, and both places were incorporated into Geisa in 1994. Geblar had 62 inhabitants at the last count.
