Geff Harrison
Geff Harrison (born August 24, 1946 or 1947 or 1948 in Salford , England ), also known as Richie West , is an English singer , composer and producer .
Life
Geff Harrison began his musical career in Manchester / Salford in the early 1960s with his youth band The Chasers . From The Chasers 1966 Some Other Guys . In 1967 he came to Germany with Some Other Guys. From Some Other Guys 1968 I Drive . After a few years with many ups and downs, he worked with Michael Bundt, switching to Demon Thor and 2066 and Then as a singer . After each record, he joined Kin Ping Meh in 1973 , from which he separated three years later in order to publish his first solo record. This he gave the name of his hometown Salford. The music magazine Sounds No. 11 of November 1, 1976 found in its record review: "We have never released such an all-round talent on record." This was followed by a record with the London Symphonic Rock Orchestra . In 1977 the Geff Harrison Band was formed . Further solo records followed under the pseudonym Richie West (1981), as well as vocal interludes on records by Corona Taps, Chapter One, Modern Trouble, UK and Lenny Mac Dowell .
In addition to performing live in the West, he completed two GDR tours and various appearances on GDR television .
Geff Harrison works as a producer and songwriter for various artists, such as B. for Herman's Hermits and for The 1st album by Modern Talking , on which he was deliberately not mentioned as producer and songwriter by Dieter Bohlen when it was released. In the subsequent legal dispute before the Hamburg Regional Court in September 1986, a settlement between the two musicians came about . With Taco he released another album under the group name Soul Brothers .
Geff Harrison was also active in the musical field. He wrote or composed the title songs and the overture for the musicals Yesterday and Time After Time . In 2003 he contributed the text for the Mountain Rock Symphony project , for which Wolfgang Zabba Lindner composed the music.
With Peter Panka and Werner Nadolny from the Jane group , another CD was released under the name Harrison Panka Nadolny Band .
From 2011 to 2014 Geff Harrison was the lead singer of the Hamburg band The Glowballs , which interpreted rock'n'roll classics from the 1950s and 1960s.
In 2018 Harrison took part in the first season of The Voice Senior .
He has lived in Hamburg since 1980 .
