Former town hall (Mairie) of Genouillac

Genouillac is a village and a former French community with 601 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). It belonged to the Arrondissement Confolens and the canton Charente-Bonnieure (until 2015 Saint-Claud ). The inhabitants are called Genouillacais .

With effect from January 1, 2019, the former communes of Roumazières-Loubert , Genouillac , Mazières , La Péruse and Suris were merged to form the Commune nouvelle Terres-de-Haute-Charente and have the status of a commune déléguée in the new commune . The administrative headquarters are located in Roumazières-Loubert.

geography

The place is about 29 kilometers northeast of Angoulême . Genouillac is surrounded by the neighboring towns of Roumazières-Loubert in the north, Suris in the east, Lésignac-Durand in the south-east, Cherves-Châtelars in the south, Mazières in the south and west, Suaux in the west and Nieuil in the north-west.
