Former town hall (Mairie) of La Péruse

La Péruse is a village and a former French community with 511 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). It belonged to the Arrondissement of Confolens and the canton of Charente-Vienne (until 2015 Chabanais ). The inhabitants are called Pérusots .

With effect from January 1, 2019, the former communes of Roumazières-Loubert , Genouillac , Mazières , La Péruse and Suris were merged to form the Commune nouvelle Terres-de-Haute-Charente and have the status of a commune déléguée in the new commune . The administrative headquarters are located in Roumazières-Loubert.

La Péruse is located about 50 kilometers northeast of Angoulême on the Charente and is surrounded by the neighboring towns of Manot in the north, Exideuil-sur-Vienne in the east, Suris in the south and Roumazières-Loubert in the west.

The National Route 141 runs through the municipality
