The District of Saint-Claud was 2015 a French canton in the department of Charente and in the former region Poitou-Charentes . It comprised 14 parishes in the Arrondissement Confolens ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Saint-Claud . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015. Claude Burlier ( PS ) was the last representative in the General Council of the Département for the years 1998–2015 .

The canton of Saint-Claud was 277.55 km 2 and last had 11,167 inhabitants (as of 2012).
