Saint-Mary is a French municipality with 348 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the Arrondissement Confolens and the canton Charente-Bonnieure (until 2015 Saint-Claud ). The inhabitants are called Mariussois .

Saint-Mary is located about 29 kilometers northeast of Angoulême . Saint-Mary is surrounded by the neighboring communities La Tâche in the north, Cellefrouin in the north and northeast, Chasseneuil-sur-Bonnieure in the east and southeast, Les Pins in the south, Val-de-Bonnieure in the west and southwest and Valence in the northwest.
